Signs the treads are done
Carpet is the usual starting point. A runner or wall-to-wall carpet that has flattened out, stained or started to lift tells you the treads under it have been walked on for years. Squeaks are the next clue, along with a worn finish where feet land every day, and risers that no longer match one another.
None of that means the staircase is beyond saving. It often means the opposite: the stair is sound, and the surface wants replacing. Send Marlon a photo of your stairs to (469) 727-3208, talk through what you see, and you will get a quote. The estimate is free, so there is no cost to finding out what your stairs need.
